Athboy Family Practice is a small medical practice based on the Main Street in Athboy, Co. Meath also serving Ballivor, Kildalkey and surrounding areas. We are committed to giving the best possible GP services to all our patients.

 

New Patients

Please note there is a waiting list to join the practice currently as the practice is at capacity

Currently patients who are living locally without a doctor will take preference as well as family and relatives of current patients

You will be contacted by Dr Ryan who will arrange a meeting. Please note that no clinical information to be sent via email - administration queries only.

 

Surgery Hours

In our practice we operate an appointment system from 9.00 am – 12.00pm and 2.00pm - 5.00 pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday with 2 doctors and 1 practice nurse in surgery.

Wednesday morning is walk-in surgery with Dr. Ryan from 9.00am to 12.00pm and the afternoon is appointments only  from 2.00p.m to 5pm. Athboy Family Practice also participates with NEDOC on call Out of Hours Services  in Navan Hospital at 1850 777 911  from 6.00pm each evening to 8.00a.m the following morning and full cover throughout the weekend.

 

For emergencies between 8.00am and 9.00am please telephone the surgery for contact details.

Appointments:

Athboy Family Practice works on an appointment system Monday through Friday. Wednesday morning is a walk in surgery with Dr. Ryan from 9.00.a.m. to 12.00p.m.
Should you wish for more than one patient to be seen by the doctor, you must inform the receptionist of this when making the appointment.
In the case of an emergency please try to telephone the practice to let them know it is an emergency, so that you can be seen as soon as possible.

Repeat Prescriptions and Social Welfare Certificates:  

48 hours noticed MUST be given when requesting prescriptions or Social Welfare Certificates.

Blood Results:
Please ring our Practice Nurse between 2.00pm – 3.00pm ten days after bloods are taken.


Insurance Forms, Letters for Housing Etc:

Please allow ten days notice – There may be a charge for these items depending on the time involved.
